For those who have an accepted proposal, Beamtime survey for 2021B (Proprietary research proposal)

From 2021B, Cryo-TEM and Bio-SAXS have become available. Please apply by following the steps below.

Common subject matter

  1. If there is unallocated beamtime(machine time) after the allocation of each period, there will be a call for additional beamtime(machine time). Please refer to the announcement.
  2. Please note that the proposal numbers of the proposals that were accepted in 2020A have been changed. The number can be checked at the UI site


PX-Beamline (BL41XU, BL45XU, BL32XU, BL26B1, BL26B2)

The deadlines for the three periods of 2021B are as follows.
 1st period (10am September 29 to 10am November 8): closed
 2nd period (10am November 9 to 10am December 13): closed
 3rd period (10am January 17 to 10am February 6)

Beamtime Schedule


  1. Automatic data collection (with or without visit) can be used at BL45XU,BL41XU and BL32XU. Since international travel is currently very difficult, please consider using automatic data collection without visit. Please note that from October 2020, the operation of BL45XU will be changed to be ready for the operation of the Uni-puck automatic exchange system.
  2. Remote access can be used at BL26B2 and BL41XU. Please contact the beamline staff for details » bioxtal (followed by @spring8.or.jp).
  3. The shortest unit of beamtime is 0.25 shifts [2 hours] for BL32XU (Only measurement without visiting) and BL41XU and BL45XU, 1.5 shifts [12 hours] for BL32XU(Visiting measurement), and 1 shift [8 hours] for BL26B1 and BL26B2.
  4. Date of measurement will be decided after arrangement.


CryoTEM

Pre-use training course is required to use the CryoTEM either through regular workshop or your own machine time. If you wish to have machine time before taking the course, please indicate so in the special notes.
