Call for on-demand requests for beamtimes (Proprietary research proposals)

The current additional beam time requests are available until 10:00 on June 9.

SPring-8 MX beamlines are now accepting beamtime requests for BL41XU, BL45XU, BL32XU, BL26B1.
In principle, beamtime will be allocated on the first-come basis.
The applicable period is as follows.
10am April 8 to 10am June 9

Procedure:

1. Please select the beamtime (“Open”) in Beamtime schedule.
   Currently, BL45XU is highly booked. So, users are also advised to apply beamtime in BL41XU for the automated data collection.
   Please check the beamtime schedule and apply to BL41XU “Open (Auto)” beamtime.
2. Please send an e-mail with proposal number, desired date, number of shifts, and beamline at least 10 days before the desired date. The e-mail address is pxbl(followed by @spring8.or.jp).

The minimum beamtime for each beamline is as follows.

• BL41XU : 0.25shift (2 hours). Remote access available
• BL45XU : 0.25shift (2 hours). Automatic measurement available. Please read here for the operation of automatic measurement on BL45XU.
• BL26B1 : 1shift (8 hours).
• BL32XU : 1.5shift (12 hours). *0.25 shift (2 hours) only automatic measurement without visit.

SPring-8 CryoTEM is now accepting machine time requests.
In principle, machinetime will be allocated on the first-come basis.
The applicable period is as follows.
10am April 1 to 10am June 9

Procedure:

1. Please select the machine time (“Open”) in Machine time schedule.
2. Please send an e-mail with proposal number, desired date, and number of shifts at least 10 days before the desired date. The e-mail address is pxbl(followed by @spring8.or.jp).

To use the CryoTEM, pre-use training is required either in regular workshop or in your own machine time. If you wish to have machine time before taking the course, please indicate so in the e-mail.
