2020A beamtime survey for non-proprietary proposals.

Automatic data collection (with or without visit) can be used at BL45XU,BL41XU and BL32XU.
Since international travel is currently very difficult, please consider using automatic data collection without visit.
Please note that from October 2020, the operation of BL45XU will be changed to be ready for the operation of the Unipac automatic exchange system.

Please note that the proposal numbers of the proposals that were accepted in 2019B have been changed. The number can be checked at the UI site

  1. The deadlines for the two periods of 2020A are as follows.

     1st period (10am April 1 to 10am June 8): finished
     2nd period (10am June 16 to 10am July 26): finished
     3rd period (10am October 2 to 10am November 9): finished
     4th period (10am November 10 to 10am December 14): The deadline is October 6th 10:00(JST).

  2. If you wish to use a beamline during two periods, please fill the survey form (Note that the format of the survey sheet has been changed) and the sample information form and upload them from the application page. We will inform the principal investigator by email the user name and password of the application page. If there are multiple assignments, please upload each.

    (In the case of proprietary proposals, please follow the instructions in the email instead of uploading files.)

  3. From this period, BL38B1 is no longer available but an undulator beamline BL45XU becomes available. Information on BL45XU can be found here. You can send three requests with priorities. In each request, only one beamline can be selected from BL41XU, BL45XU, BL32XU, BL26B1 or BL26B2. The shortest unit of beamtime is 0.25 shifts [2 hours] for BL32XU (Only measurement without visiting) and BL41XU and BL45XU, 1.5 shifts [12 hours] for BL32XU(Visiting measurement), and 1 shift [8 hours] for BL26B1 and BL26B2.
  4. Beamlines and shifts will be decided according to the rating of your proposal when it was reviewed. Previous allocations can be found here.
  5. Date of measurement will be decided after arrangement.
  6. Remote access can be used at BL26B2. Please contact the beamline staff for details » bioxtal (followed by @spring8.or.jp).
  7. If there is unallocated beamtime after the allocation of each period, there will be a call for additional beamtime. Please refer to the announcement.
